In his interview yesterday with Hannity, Trump suggested that, in the August 4th search, the FBI might well have been looking for Hillary Clinton's deleted emails, believing they might be hidden at Mar-a-Lago. Let's pursue this idea further.
Let's say, Russia had (as Trump asked them to do) succeeded in finding the deleted emails, and providing them to Trump. He would doubtless have discovered that, as stated by Hillary, they were purely personal in nature. Trump, at that point, would have had a strong interest in ensuring that their content was kept secret. So, yes, maybe Trump really does have a copy of the emails, concealed somewhere other than Mar-a-Lago.
He would not have known how to get rid of them. Apparently, Trump's only strategies for getting rid of documents he wants destroyed are to eat them or flush them down the toilet. Neither of those would be feasible with an electronic medium, such as a hard disk. He would not have trusted any of his close aides to help, as he would have assumed it would result in them being leaked.
Of course, he might have used his kinetic powers to telepathically classify the emails, declaring them in his mind to be Top Secret/SCI information. That would obviously have prevented anyone else from looking at them, but I guess he did not think of that.
