McConnel was following the rule set by Schumer in 2007 (Schumer then too the opposite stance in 2016). I love how you constantly argue "it's okay when we do it." Why should the republicans extend the democrats and courtesies, in 2016 or 2020, after the democrats pulled that stunt in 2007? Also love how you ignore all the statements by RBG, Schumer, and Biden; that I posted. And here are some more:
Perhaps, you can provide some evidence for Schumer refusing to hold confirmation hearings for nominated justices to the Supreme Court between February of 2006 and January 2009 when Obama became president. As far as I know, the last vacancy of George W Bush's presidency occurred in January 2006 (resignation of Sandra Day O'Connor) with the replacement Samuel Alito confirmed without delay by the Senate on January 31, 2006.
Obama last had a nominee confirmed in August 2010, thus not having the opportunity to nominate any Supreme Court justice for roughly the last six and a half years of his presidency. I believe this was only equalled by the similar period between 1994 and 2001 at the end of the Clinton administration.
I am pretty sure you were taking some statement by Schumer out of context. If, however, you can demonstrate that a Supreme Court justice died or resigned in 2007, and Schumer refused to hold confirmation hearings for the nominated successor, I will join you in criticising his action, which would not even have been during an election year.
