OT: "In the Age of AI"
PBS has a new "Frontline" program called "In the Age of AI"
It's a very good program on the progress of AI, but, IMO, it is of interest mostly as demonstration of how whatever you used to think you knew about how Economics works, and how "capitalism" as a component of the field of Economics works, is RAPIDLY becoming invalid, as AI replaces more and more jobs. If "capitalism" is a part of your cats meow, and also, if is not, then you really should watch this program.
It is about midnight, on the evening of Friday, Nov 8. My "Tivo" caught and recorded this program maybe a day or two ago. I just checked to see if this program is still being broadcast, and I see a handful of rebroadcasts of this program in the next 24 hours or so, in my area. I haven't checked how easy it is to stream or otherwise see this program if you miss it as a "TV broadcast, but last time I checked, it seemed to me that getting a Frontline episode other than as an off-the-air broadcast wasn't necessarily all that easy.
So, in addition to highly recommending this program for one's general education, this post is a suggestion to view or capture this program (on a Tivo or similar) in the next 24 hours or so, if you possibly can. It is highly relevant to today's politics and market understanding, IMO.
