I think that HRC's failure was in not engaging with possible Democratic voters. She lost not because right-leaning voters turned out to vote for Trump, but instead because left-leaning voters did not vote.
Only when they actually lose their health insurance or some other change from this administration actually affects them will the die hard Trump supporters change their minds. That's why the AHCA changes won't take effect until after at least the 2018 elections and possibly 2020.
In this case, posters here have have been trying to address Walter and all that happens is that he becomes more invested in his position.
