Re: OT: The GOP healthcare bill could slash Trump megadonor Sheldon Adelson's tax bill by more than $40 million
Again, the key problem with US healthcare is that the US healthcare industry has the upper hand.
Trump has been in favor of universal healthcare for years, maybe decades. Google "trump favors universal healthcare" without quotes.
No president can create a worthwhile healthcare plan unless congress is on board. I think Trump, Hillary, and Obama, all wanted some sort of public healthcare. But there is no way to get something like that though congress.
The healthcare industry in the US is happy with Americans paying 4X as much for healthcare as the rest of the world. And the healthcare industry will continue to lobby congress to make sure the status quo is maintained.
All Trump, or Obama, have done is switch part of the burden from one group to another. But the underlying problem cannot be touched.
JMHO, of course.
BTW: let's not pretend that is only conservatives that lobby congress for tax cuts and other sweet deals.
