 AR doesn't currently pay a dividend.
 
I don't disagree that perhaps AR is looking to one day buyout  AM at the right time and most likely with it being a stock deal but if I were running this company I would first spend all my excess cash buying in my own shares over the next year which should take AR's share price even higher thus a whole lot less dilution when the deal happens...
 
Then doing a deal with perhaps a 20-25% premium would require a whole lot less shares... 
 
The question for me would be why bother messing what is a good thing for AR's shareholders over the last 2 years and now unbelievable FCF happening going forward...and what does owning all of AM really bring to the table for us since we are already the major shareholder in the company..  I'm thinking not much...
 
Edit...Lets not overlook all that debt that would come along with such a deal...many billions I believe...
