Re: create a software division----edgewater networks the leader--get rid of another thousand emplyees--
spot on vinyl, it's worth more in pieces. 20 years of telco nuclear winter. the vendors are done. not profitable, not predictable - same as the services telco is providing - not reactive to the changing landscape. i'm involved with a lot of software in my job, much of it is going UC. telco has nothing to do with any of it. it's all smart nimble companies. we hung our hat on titanic wrecks thinking the wreck would magically rise from it's slow death. i dont have the service but my fishing shack up north has fiber in the street by a local telco that built up with the rural bb initiative. multi gig speeds to the premise. with that bandwidth what do i need telco for. over the top useful services is fast and cheap. this industry needs to be blown up. the tiers and the vendors, carve them up like a thanksgiving turkey and let someone with brains run these companies.
