I've written the Huawei ban is a great gift of Trump to PXLW, as it's stopped Huawei's overwhelming momentum. Their phones were becoming unstoppable in EU and some other geographies (though not in India.....there BBK and Xiaomi dominate.)
....and the article you link suggests Huawei is finally now running out of chips....months after the ban started.
I'm not sure I believe it, though the article seems sourced.
What's impacted Huawei more definitively as relates to PXLW, is the Android licensing problems. Whereas chips can be acquired through global networks, Android is a per-phone use and here a ban shows up right away. Helping our customers and hurting their arch enemy Huawei.
We're all going to pay for this in the future. China will develop their own chips and the level of theft going on by China is likely at industrial-mass levels right now. Some of PXLW's employees in China are almost certian to be reporting and working for the Chinese state.
