The really scary thing is when you have no real symptoms. All three of my stent placements totaling 14 stents came with no significant pain or distinctive symptoms. Each of those came with subtle changing in my breathing. A little bit of shortness of breath with minor activity.
The first one was the worst as I was simply lucky that my wife insisted I go see a doctor and got my first 4 or 5 that afternoon with 100% blockage of RCA. From then on I was really sensitive to my breathing.
With the PM placement, since I am very sensitive now to my heart issues, I knew from frequent monitoring of my BP and O2 levels that I was in trouble. Still no real symptoms until it got really low in the thirties and ultimately into the 20's that day.
The reason I go into so much detail is to help alert you all to the possible subtlety of heart problems. I think we all associate pain with heart attacks.
Tain't necessary to have pain and still have serious heart issues. I repeat, I have NEVER had pain with my issues. I also have never had a heart attack.
GLT is fortunate and again, I offer a prayer up for him.
