The Elephant in the Rhuem and his friend TED
Every board has someone who suggests their stock must be a takeover target. I have now become that "guy." Some of the recent strong price action definitely suggests outside activity to accumulate shares.
HZNP may become the victim of the type of shopping it normally does so well. It is a seriously undervalued company with exploding assets. Now that HZNP has crossed the $10B market cap level, it "can" make a difference in the bottom line of the larger pharms and bios.
With over $2B in projected annual peak sales (I would say its probably more like $4B with increased T and K populations due to research findings), you have to think that they are not going unnoticed (hard to not notice a company hitting record highs daily).
HZNP is TW's legacy company, but I think he would do what is best for shareholders. My guess is $85 to $90, although it might come in incremental offers (and could spark competitive bidding).
One has to ask themselves, what other options do the big pharms/bios have to grow? - and HZNP would fit nicely into their portfolios.
Put me solidly in the rumor category on this, but just because I'm paranoid (actually optimistic), doesn't mean they aren't out to get us (buy us).
