From George Yancopoulos on the REGN yearly CC this morning.
He discussed their C5 antibody results in their PNH studies and says they are meeting the high bar that they set to be better than soliris. He was then ebullient about the use of RNAi with Alnylam in combo with this high bar antibody for future use.
He is generally a pretty conservative fellow and his look into the future is pretty darn good after founding REGN.
One other story. A friend of mine was a Columbia University P&S prof, and he tells me a story when George was a med school 1st yr student in the Biochemistry class, first one of the morning. He would come in late, sit in the back row and read the NY Times, and seemed not to follow the lectures. But when the prof would ask for questions at the end of class, he asked the most sophisticated questions regarding the lecture with impressive insight. Dick knew he was a superstar way back then.
