Re: Musk has a "super bad feeling" about the economy
In northern California we are now paying $6.39 per gallon for regular gas. You can spend $140 to fill a pickup.
Employers offering $18/hr to hire service sector workers, and fill other low skill jobs.
That is not enough to motivate good people, and with the cost of living rising so much it's a losing battle.
Some small businesses have closed, after all the Covid restrictions were lifted. Like small independent restaurants saying, can't hire enough good staff, and costs of supplies going up, and while we seem to have the customers, profit has disappeared. If prices were raised enough to cover rising expenses, customers would be driven away.
Extremely high turnover in service sector jobs. They hire. Then the new hires quit. And they just repeat.
