"What are you into?"
Been taking profits and moving into cash for what I think is an inevitable big retracement. I don't see March lows - God I hope not - but the employment picture, the remaining overhang of unsold Residential Real Estate and a lot of pain yet to come in Commercial Real Estate is a continuing drag on the recovery.
I've had some good luck with the financials and though I've been tempted to lighten some positions, my cost basis is so low that I'd never get those deals again and the trade gains wouldn't off-set the tax impact of STCG enough to make it worth it. I have a large - 9% of portfolio - in CMO and the dividends have been sweet indeed. I just bought a CMO clone (CYS) and think it should play out roughly the same. Not much out there priced where I'd be interested at this point.
Caught a tip on HURN when it fell from grace about three weeks ago and took a flyer for a few 100 shares at $13.75. Sold half on Thursday at $19.78 and I think I'll hold to see what happens since nothing else blows my skirt up right now.
I haven't sold any of my NVEC as I've suffered along in this sucker for so long it would just kill me to sell and see it finally realise it's potential while I off screwing with some biotech crap. I'm actually having a hell of a good year since March - way's to go yet to fully recoup - with big help from trading FCX. I own a bunch at a cost basis of about $17.00 that will probable be in my estate. :-)
Hope you're kickin'ass and taking names....
