This coming Christmas ? What kind of consumer application do you think could drive that ? Gaming ? General use (as a "screen" with interaction) ? Is the image quality good enough for widespread general use ? (hillerby posted a link to KG explaining why image quality is poor, maybe useful in limited applications with limited visual info. And discussed value in commercial applications. Yes, KG has his bias, but also expertise.) Might msft want to first concentrate on commercial (or military) applications where ROI can be demonstrated, and the hardware can be evaluated and improved ? Would release of a consumer product risk a failure to meet even basic expectations ? Those are open questions, or at least we don't know that HL2 is ready for consumer release. IMHO. There is good money available for a good consumer product that adequately provides a solution for desired applications. Then again, would msft risk a google glass type result ?
I am not going with an assumption that mvis is certainly in HL2 going forward (and IVAS 3 and 4) and will have the best SS LiDAR. IMO there is at least reasonable risk in such assumptions. I'm not sure the PPS is where it is at now, because of any fundamentals reasons (like expectation for successful AR product or auto LiDAR demo/contract/product). I'm not sure the current PPS is because of an expectation to sell the company at a high price.......maybe some effect. It seems like the PPS movement was more of a traders thing.
