You were told the PPS was "cheap" and went into a philosophical discussion of what is "cheap". Interesting but irrelevant. In effect you rationalized an excuse not to buy. That is you business, but the REALITY, is you missed a huge opportunity to average down for a few hundred dollars and consequently missed a huge return. Again your business, but in hindsight not smart financially given the risk vs reward equation. Your declining to buy said that you thought the company would not be bought in its entirety or any of its verticals and that the patent portfolio was worth very little. I disagreed as did others and that is what makes a market.
There's a difference of opinion and the discourse is civil. In essence it comes down to whether or not the CEO saying they are trying to sell the company means the company will be sold, or not. Tom was pointing out the uncertainty.
