<<this is all about
protecting the PRODUCTION lines (the SILKWORMS) from getting taken out
by viruses, bacteria, et al that if it happens.>>
Anyone ever hear of a silk disease? The silk itself is 100% bio-compatible with human beings. Maybe they can eventually incorporate antibiotics into silk. We were talking about genetic lines of silkworms in opening sentence. I think everyone else adapted and were capable of figuring out what I intended. I however, have edited the original post to reflect the obvious error. In the future, maybe context rules the day to the point of instant forgiveness.?
I expect KBLB's silkworms to eventually get updated to increase our own production numbers....if they haven't already.
<<And yes, KBLB
isn't reporting any problems, but they can't 'protect' their silkworm
production lines, and it will be a different story now won't it...
>>
Diseases limit production, so I would expect typical production numbers typically associated with sericulture for now. They go through the feeding slats often to clean out and get rid of diseased silkworms and feces. It will be a different story when KBLB has a commercial disease resistant silkworm to breed into current spider silk silkworm production.
