Not encouragingBimco estimates that freight rates for tankers won’t recover for at least a year. “There is a massive mismatch between tanker capacity and underlying oil demand,” said Peter Sand, Bimco’s chief shipping analyst. “VLCCs will be mostly loss making for the next 12 to 15 months.” Although most are probably guessing since it's anyone's guess how the recovery will proceed post COVID on the other hand maybe this will jump start scrapping again. |
