Over the past 12 months I've used $65 as the strike price for selling calls against my small 5k share position. I've managed to pocket $61k. My latest options expire 4/17. I'll be damned if I go that high of a strike price again. In the time I've pocketed the $61k I've given back about that much in unrealized gains.
I've come to realize that I need to get out of this stock. Between diluting the shareholders with the 11 million shares sold to biogen (in which we didn't need the cash), to creating AKCA, to championing these dirty piss drugs Teg and Way, they've either obscured the amazing science they're involved in or they're hiding the fact that they're no closer to finding another winner (which would only be their 2nd). And the competition is so fierce that makes me realize ions is no more special than a myriad of other companies.
It will be years until there's a chance of another royalty stream from an approved successful drug. Years! Without a buyout scenario, the market is not and will not be enamored with this stock.
