<<<"It's just madness for us to allow global CO2 levels
(in the atmosphere) to go beyond 450 parts per million, and
temperatures to shoot past 1.5 degrees," he told a press briefing on
Thursday.
"That can still be prevented. If we come together on the basis of the emergency facing us, we can do it.>>>
Disaster or not a disaster, ppm's of 450 and above are coming. The entire developing world wants a better standard of living. As they build their infrastructure they will need more internal combustion engines, the buildings will use CO2, they will eat more farm raised foods, consume more plastics, fly more, even their pets will contribute to increases in greenhouse gases....Plus populations are growing so any decreases in CO2 from efficiencies will be more than offset from global increases of people and increased standards of living....
As a result, it doesn't seem realistic to stop the increase levels of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere....Instead, we need to accept that it is coming and whatever it brings be prepared to adapt.
