Re: Off Topic aftershocks In Turkey
Yeah those poor people. Unfortunately a lot of poorer rural people live in cinderblock or rock wall and plaster constructed buildings around there. And there are millions of Syrian refugees hanging out is the most basic accommodation as well. They already have almost nothing.
We went to Turkey a few years ago, the hospitality, accommodations, food, was top rate. Incredible historical crossroads at the East end of the Med. Great trip.. However, not exactly a sipper’s paradise although they are happy to serve infidels some hooch of our choice. What you won’t hear is politics being discussed, and although you see women in the workplace and the country is fairly modern, you almost never see unaccompanied younger women outside of Istanbul, and even there, pretty rarely. The countryside is pretty conservative.
Aldy, if the impetus can’t come from management, there is still hope in markets and the long-overdue need to resolve the Mongolian ownership issue. I’m convinced there is pressure from that quarter now. But like Sgt. Schultz “I know nothing!”
