It is neither BS nor a stretch. In many states now, an abortion is out under any circumstances. Which life is at stake? Which life do you save? The woman's life or that of the fetus? What about a miscarriage? The safest procedure for a miscarriage is to abort the fetus but that can no longer be done and can put the life of the woman at risk. However, under the laws in place now that Roe v Wade is gone, this would be an offence for the doctor, as well as the patient. With the added ban on some of the medications used to induce an abortion, women cannot even get those medications nor can their doctors prescribe them.
Now they are even considering banning birth control products and medications. What about banning vasectomies? Is that not a birth control measure as they are usually not done for "health" reasons.
