Re: This is how ridiculous it is
Notice the ban is on cars and maybe trucks. Not airplanes, air force,
navy, army. Most likely police and fire vehicles would remain
gas/diesel. What about farmers, miners, and heat for homes and
businesses? The time it takes to recharge a battery may be hours. What back to walking+bikes+horses? And row boats and canoes? To
me alternatives to gas/diesel must be developed first and they must be
cost effective not exceedingly expensive. Then you can pass a law
banning something that needs to be replaced. If the solution is cheaper
and better the switch will be no problem. In any case most of us will be long gone by then anyway. and yes it has been dang cold and wet this summer. Worst I have seen here in 70 years. FC13 |
You options will all result in an increase on CO2 production from those sources.
The real option is reduction and not elimination, not that it is necessary. But if we are going to go down stupid road let's do it right.
The simple solution is Natural gas ICEs.
If they are steadfast on electric then fuel cells.
The nasty crap that goes into batteries emits massive amounts of CO2 to produce them.
Also their production requires fossil fuels to be consumed but no one looks at these factors.
All they see is PRETTY CAR.
