Re: BIP.UN & BIPC sharesThere was an article in Financial Times recently about BAM and in particular the subsidiaries. Try searching for - Brookfield’s leveraged complexity should be unravelled - (Apparently have to be subscribed to read same link below) https://www.ft.com/content/5a828fd3-dbaa-4e55-89e4-8001fc8cc8a3 Article says the subsidiaries pay out (to BAM) much more than they earn. The subsidiaries then raise money by selling more stock or preferreds or debt. Feeling was that this could be a problem in coming financial crisis. Then there is pending downgrade of BPYU : https://www.moodys.com/research/Moodys-places-the-ratings-of-Brookfield-Property-REIT-on-review--PR_421613? WT.mc_id=AM~WWFob29fRmluYW5jZV9TQl9SYXRpbmcgTmV3c19BbGxfRW5n~20200402_PR_421613&yptr=yahoo Kind of bad press for a company that has done well for investors. However, Brookfield say they are in good shape to weather the storm: https://bam.brookfield.com/~/media/Files/B/Brookfield-BAM-IR-V2/documents/ Update_for_Brookfield_Shareholders_3-23-2020.pdf |
