Re: Split preferreds as a safety in difficult times. Or Pfds with floor

So, the pfds with floor would be the min reset preferreds?

Probably wise to look at the prospectus of each? Quite a bit of work.

Maybe start with iluvnascar's list. Or perhaps there is another site that has done some of the work?

Looking at the numbers, can someone explain why in some cases, YTR% is lower than the min div%? Is it because dividend is annual and buyer would get just one payment by reset date?

Example

Ticker  BPO.PR.C
Issuer  BROOKFIELD 6% Ser CC
Price  26.25
Div %  6.00
Ex Div  12/12/2019
CY %  5.71
Reset/Call  6/30/2021
YTR %  2.60
Min Div %  6.00
Spread  518
MTD %  0.42
YTD %  0.38
Div $  1.50

CY % - Current Yield: The dividend relative to the market price. Current Yield = Dividend/Share - Div $
Div % - Dividend rate
Min Div % - Minimum dividend rate
MTD % - Month to date price change excluding paid dividend
Price - Last price
YTC % - Yield to Call date
YTD % - Year to date price change excluding paid dividend
YTP % - Yield to Put date
YTR % - Yield to Reset date
