Geology for investors Transition to low or no carbon 'clean' tech involves major increases in demand for lithium, copper and nickel, and lesser increases in demand for cobalt, silver and rare earth minerals among others. Here are two sites that help with understanding the basics of mining and geology Exploration Insights is a newsletter written by two experienced mining geologists focusing on junior companies. There are some freebies on the EI site. They are strong on the traditional mining sector metals, copper, nickel, silver, gold. They lack expertise and understanding of the lithium sector. The newsletter is expensive but worth it if you are new to mining investment. The authors do not take stock payments from companies and do not front run purchase their recommendations. Most all other mining newsletter writers do - they are tout sheets and the junior mining sector is a snake pit. For further insights and more or less informed discussion, especially on gold juniors, check out the Mining board moderated by Public Heel. Crux Investor, Matt Gordon , does interviews of junior miners and posts on Youtube. He has a good basic knowledge and asks sticky questions. Here is a recent interview re nickel markets by Gordon with Mark Selby, once a nickel markets expert with nickel major Vale Inco/ Selby now runs junior mine explorer Canada Nickel. |
