A key breakthrough?? Cerium is one of the less rare rare metals but certainly not widely available. No idea what volumes of cerium would be needed if this process were to become commercial.
What I find encouraging is that there are so many CO2 use options popping up, though most are at the early stages like this idea. Most are funded by public research money. Now if we could divert to these initiatives 5% of the tens of billions spent each year on R&D by the auto industry trying eke out tiny gains in ICE efficiency...…..
