I keep a daily journal. I keep a brief, yet meticulous, daily calendar of my short ideas and which ones I attempted and which ones executed. My calendar tracks whether the trade was profitable or not. Thanks to Glenn, I have considered shorting as an investment strategy since September 2020. The daily journal keeps me accountable to myself. I have not made as many short trades as compared to my long trades. But, my hit rate has been better. Although I have been successful I still consider myself a trader in training, and probably will for several more market cycles.
To be honest, I was scared to death the first several short trades. The dark side is still not a natural place for me.
