Trying to close out the week with a gainDOW Futures are currently pointing to a gain of about 133 points at the open in a little over 2.50 hours. NAS COMP Futures are looking for a gain of about 21 points at the open, which is pretty interesting given, NFLX & TSLA. SP 500 Futures are predicting a 11 point gain. All three have been improving as the morning progresses. The 2 year is now yielding 2.583%, the 5 year yield is higher at 2.591% and the 10 year yield has jumped to 2.766%. Major European Markets are all posting gains of over 1%. Major Asian Markets are also up over 1%, with the exception of the KOSPI which is .82% higher. WTI & Brent are posting solid gains, but natural gas is lower. Gold and silver are lower, copper, platinum and palladium higher. The VIX is down .20 to 17.86. The IBB is unchanged at its 109.79 close and the XBI is up .30 to 82.70. Notable companies that reported after yesterday's market close, with earnings consensus, include Netflix (NFLX), consensus 24c... American Express (AXP), consensus $1.80... J.B. Hunt (JBHT), consensus $1.48... People's United Financial (PBCT), consensus 34c... Bank OZK (OZK), consensus 83c. NFLX beat on eps, but lowered the forecast for the 1st quarter. PPS dropped, came back and who knows what they will do today, not me. It is currently at 345.65, down 7.79. TSLA announced a 7% cut to its work force, citing difficult times ahead.
