Started in November 2014, NIO designs, manufactures, and sells premium EVs in China. Its vehicles feature vehicles connectivity, autonomous driving and artificial intelligence. Its first mass-production model, ES8, a 7-seater electric SUV, made its debut at the NIO Day event in December 2017. NIO has started to deliver ES8 since June 2018 and to deliver ES6 (5-seater electric SUV) in June 2019. NIO will start to deliver its first Sedan, ET7, in 1H22.
I have been following for some time. Every now and then I'll buy China. NIO’s orders were slow in January and February due to: (1) pre-buy effect in December as consumers looked for higher EV purchase subsidy, and (2) TSLA’s Made in China Model Y launch also gained traction in the premium EV segment. NIO’s orders have gradually recovered since March and witnessed sequential improvement from March to May, as: (1) more NIO House and NIO Space openings which helped NIO tap into new cities, (2) it launched second generation battery swap station in April, which reduces time for battery swap and enhances user experience. CATL’s 100kWh battery pack capacity will be expanded in June.
I can see a double from here. Maybe it's drinks that's making me see double.
