Wilk, Russia conscripts 130,000 men every six months. It has been doing so for years. They get basic training and serve for a year. At the end of that time they get a choice of becoming a contract(regular) soldier or to enter the reserve and return home. This is different from their mobilization, which called back 300,000 veteran contract soldiers andtook in more than 300,000 volunteers. Russia is in the process of expanding its full time forces by some 700,000, while it increases its defense budget by 70%.
