What would you expect from a board dominated by white males over the age of fifty? White males that are pro-fossil fuels. A board that thinks climate change is a hoax, and despite Doom's rules constantly posts about the climate change agenda. A board that a good number of members think that Putin acted in defense of his country when Russia invaded Ukraine.

 

Compared to most posters on this board I lean to the left, my children think I lean terribly far to the right. It is all a matter of perspective but I love this board.  I have learned a lot more than I have given  on this board.  As for politics, it is just like religion. People are going to believe what they believe you are not going to change it. People take offense very easily when you make a comment, or post contrary to their belief. It has been this way since the earliest of times.

 

Crusades, Irish Catholics vs Protestants, soccer hooligans, do you remember that 39 fans were killed, and 600 injured in the Heysel Stadium over a soccer match? Ralph Waldo Emerson in 1840 said "For non-conformity the world whips you with its  displeasure." I have been on boards where I warned continually that the stock was collapsing, and everyone should sell. The more correct, I proved the more I was despised. 

 

The human psyche does not make sense some posters would rather lose all their money, than admit they were wrong. They would rather call a poster a troll for being bearish. So given all of this it makes no sense to antagonize a board, and try to convince someone that climate change does or does not exist. It makes no sense to post your feelings about the Democrat or Republican candidates. You will not convince anyone on these boards.

 

We on this board are all old enough, and our minds are made up. For the most part people of our age group know what we know, and would rather be wrong and take it to our grave, than admit we are wrong. I resemble these remarks, that is how I know it to be true. LOL.
