Re: Saudi Crown Prince threatened to damage US economyInteresting further commentary on the paper shorts vs fundamental supply/demand battle being waged in the oil market. We know: 1. We know that Biden and MBS don't like one another. 2. We know MBS is making alliances with a new set of world leaders, breaking from 90-year-old traditions. (Russia, China, Iran and maybe more) 3. We know how Biden negotiates...heavy handed using the treats of US retaliation. We don't know: 1. How committed MBS is to break with the US...he may be really angry, or he may just be playing his diplomatic cards as any monarch might. 2. How strong and committed the BRICS+ alliance is against the US...probably sick of US being so hypocritical and bullying every other country in the world. But also fear the US as an enemy. 3. Just how weak the US may be...traditionally US is an undefeatable superpower. No one would challenge. But we're now $30 trillion in debt, perhaps headed into a fierce recession/depression, and we have ceded the moral high ground with our widespread corruption. So, the table is set...can they break the back of the US Goliath (will they make a serious try) or is the US still too strong in so many ways to overcome. I'm conflicted because my investment success depends on the rise of fundamental supply/demand market forces (BRICs+ winning) rather than US banksters shorting us into oblivion. My heart and lifestyle still lie with US being the greatest nation ever created, like she used to be. |
