Re: Russia does not know ///Russia buying Indian Cricket teams So instead of X discount they are getting X+Y and many people on both sides are getting rich along the way. ------------------------- 1) The Y discount buys a lot of friends and goodwill and willingness to circumvent sanctions (how many microchips is India buying?) 2) We are ignoring the capital flight (in the past) out of Russia. About 1T left Russia in the last 30 yrs to be converted to soccer clubs mega-yachts and London apartments. Sanctions and asset freezes in the West, solved that problem and converted it into a "what to do the rupees problem". 3) Finally, Russia spending only 3% of GDP is creating a much more diversified economy, instead of being a gas-station to Europe. They make more of the stuff they need and trade primarily with 3 billion people who need their resources and their technology.  |
