More on Jude Clement's 5 things I don't understand about the energy transitionThis is worth a read. The driving force behind the push for an energy transition is a complete misunderstanding of atmospheric physics. The fact that so many people believe that greenhouse gases (polyatomic gases) trap heat is troubling. John Kerry and Al Gore are traveling the world spouting nonsense. The good news is that observed data shows the supposed CO2-driven climate crisis isn't. It must be deeply embarrassing to be so wrong about the physical world. This is why those who went off the deep end fight hard to ignore reality. It's tough to ignore the growth of sea ice in the Arctic, which the negative phase of the AMO is ushering in. The same holds for the growth of glaciers in Greenland and Iceland. The discussion of volcanoes is interesting. In the historical climate record, most known eruptions show as cooling events. However, it's complicated. It depends on what is ejected during eruptions and how high. What is interesting to observe is the huge increase in undersea volcanoes. I have hypothesized that the rapidly declining magnetic field of the earth will lead to increased volcanic activity. Focusing on a trace molecule like CO2 is ignorant on so many levels. The declining magnetic field strength is a huge deal. So is Earth now being more exposed to space weather. The sun popping off an earth-facing CME of gigantic proportions is what we should be worried about. |
