Energy Investing - Daily Gas Flows (Part 1- US Storage) - Energy Investing - InvestorVillage

  • Please accept my sincerest apologies for failing to publicly acknowledge our fallen heroes this past Memorial Day. No excuse I could offer could justify the oversight. Along with you, I salute the many men and women who have proudly and selflessly served in our military to protect, defend and secure the freedoms and liberties we enjoy each and every day. Their bravery in making the ultimate sacrifice will forever be appreciated and they will always be remembered and celebrated and never taken for granted or forgotten.

Daily Gas Flows (Part 1- US Storage)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*** SWITCHOVER NOTE: We are now in "Switchover", that time of year when withdrawals give way to injections in the spring
(and vice-versa in the fall) as we transition from withdrawal season to injection season... and the Spring "Shoulder Season".
For a variety of reasons, it is harder to model storage flows during switchover, so greater variance between EIA reporting and
gas-flow modeling is assumed, so a wider margin of error is assumed in Thursday's EIA reporting until injections prevail.

In actuality, however, the mildness of the 2023 winter coupled with the bearishness of 2023 baseline scoring has kept us
bumping into switchover time and again this winter, throwing off forcasting continually from EIA actuals. It is assumed that
that inaccuracy goes away by mid-April. It is also possible that Winter-2023 will give enough insight to improve baseline and
modeling significantly once through switchover.

Baseline: An estimate of the weekly injection/withdrawal required for a dead-neutral report
