To broaden awareness of what's out there, I'll pass along an item from Morning Joe on MSNBC this morning.  (It was one of the mornings when my wife, the Democrat, beats me to the remote.)

 

Scarborough is thrilled at the current level of oil prices.  He says all the bozos who  were affixing "Biden did that" stickers to gas pumps back in the spring should follow up with thank-you stickers celebrating gas prices back to pre-Feb 22 levels - just in time for Christmas shopping.  It has cost the Russians a lot of money, he says, and there's more of that coming.

 

I'd take that as an accurate reflection of the US Administration's current thinking.  And - credit where due - it's nice to note that the SPR dumps were not completely useless (at least in the short term.)

 

Going forward, I think Greekabago's theory is very much on point.  That's the one where he says lower prices now make it a lot easier for OPEC+ to do what's necessary next weekend.
