Agree that some bargains that will show up in that period, outside of energy there might be some interesting stocks that were hit this year.  I have a watch list already. 

 

  I often use those first days of the new year to move stuff around. I have some room in my TFSA coming in 2023 along with the annual top ups. I withdrew a fair amount last year from the TFSA's on a landscaping project and pool going in as my cap gains were already big in '22 in our taxable account. That may get fixed on Dec 30th along with some buys being made into  those TFSA's, those trades will settle in '23.
