Then Germany has a choice, stay in NATO and freeze or cut a deal with Russia that will involve leaving ending all sanctions , repaying Russia for seized(stolen) property and renouncing NATO. That would involve expelling the US from bases in Germany. Other European nations will face similar choices. The game is for much more than just Ukraine. That is why Nuclear War is possible.
