Re: Exxon reconsidering several Big Projects- WSJYes, that was central to my thesis that Canada LNG, for all its delays, is well positioned to slot into a several year gap in the worldwide new LNG project list in early 2025. I make it sound like providence, but I suppose that RDS, as the world's largest non-NOC LNG provider and 40% owner/operator of Canada LNG (initially 14 mt/yr. but 28 mt/yr. or 4bcf/d with both phases), may have kept a close eye on the time to commission a new project, all along. By the by, I forgot to include PNG in the list of pending LNG Projects from my re-post above (about another 10m t/yr., start-up 4-5 years from a FID). Well, surprise, surprise (I'm sure it's just a koinkident, a $10b project probably never even came up in Exxon's Board meeting, wink, wink), it seems Exxon and Total are re-prioritizing (possibly one of the worst words in the English language) the project list to advance 2 separate LNG projects (actually expansions of the existing LNG plant). GAWSH....I wonder if their newfound enthusiasm to go to one of the few countriess less qualified than Mozambique to host a world scale industrial plant has anything to do with the re-energized insurgency in Mozambique?!? Because writing down their respective shares of 30 TCF is so much fun. Hey, maybe if we sanction PNG in time, we can offset??? They wouldn't think that way......would they? And not to ride too many horses in one post, but as I and Raggetyjack have been attempting to share, guess which oilfield services company has a virtual monopoly on jungle helicopter drilling, employee camps and oilfield rental equipment in PNG? And count Exxon and Total amongst their loyal customers? A: (ironically) High Arctic Energy Services (HWO-T). Pan to the very bottom of this page: Regards, Naamkat |
