Re: Why EV penetration will be slow and limited

Friday I went to an electric energy conference in NH. Keynote speaker was an Ivy League professor with ties to the current administration. Her slides predict that by 2050 over 50% of cars in New England will be EVs.

More interesting is New England electric generation prediction in 2050. 85% renewable 15% natgas. Renewable includes 15% hydropower from Quebec (1500 miles of new electric transmission lines) Remainder 70% is about 1/4 small nukes, 1/4 solar and 1/2 wind power from the Gulf of Maine (to be built). Additional renewables will be biomass like wood chips.

No one brought up the issue of will Quebec have any power to spare in 2050 as they go all eelctric.
