Re: That's a wrap!
20 years ago I volunteered to be part of a cull where I was working..(natural gas utility) I was 47...and my annual pay was 32,000 canuck bucks...I was keen on energy and had been making over 100,000 a year for 3 years in market..
My buy out was 40,000 with 20 years service .. Put it in a RRIF ..and ran it up to 700,000.
Then moved half into RRSP.. Yes I know.. nothing like Peter lynch.
At my peak was over $3 million in net worth.
It was the best decision I ever made.. I had 3 uncles in business.Always wanted to be my own boss.. Never went to college.. Took my laptop to Florida most winters and in summer had a place on Lake Huron in Ontario.
Did pretty well but got gutted in this last downturn in oil for past few years.
Having a very good year.. Got my mojo back.. have diversified.
