Re: Belgium Closing Last Nuclear Reactors by 2025 (not made up)

Let me suggest that there may well be much larger forces at play than...

'The ONLY real interest that the US has in this pipeline is that US
international sales of LNG will be impacted'...

And to question how, Trump was somehow able to 'delay the Nordstream 2'
...Indicates, that others may also question the wisdom of the pipeline...

Twice in 20th century we were drawn into European wars...many believe WWII
was a direct result of conditions placed on the Germans at Versailles...the
occupation of the Ruhr Valley etc...loss of their coal/steel industry etc...

40+/- years ago I developed a working/professional/friendship with a couple
of 'old Germans'...(older than me anyway...WWII old)...solid individuals...
in the wee hours of the morning...after a few drinks...they talked...I listened
their world had been thru hell...the one thing they were firm/resolute about
was that, their 'eastern lands'...the land that was part of Germany and is now
in Poland...was still part of Germany...they believed it...what can you say?...
That made an impression...over time, it went away...

Then Nordstream 2...just a pipeline...so what's the big deal...seems like a lot
of trouble...why the Baltic?...why not just run it across Poland like the other
NG pipelines?...Except...except...pipelines across Poland give the Poles leverage...
some say so...some push back against political pressure...or other pressure...not
today...not tomorrow...but, someday...after our star has dimmed...we know the
Germans want their 'Easternlands' back...And that Russia feels about the Baltic States like they did about Crimea...Wants them both...The Germans and the Russians
have made deals with Poland in the middle in the past...

And of course...the US's interest?...it all because of the money...What else
could it be...

'In Flanders Field the Poppies blow...
Between the crosses, row on row...'

...written by a Canadian...John McCrae...after burying a friend...

The US only has 400+ crosses at Flanders Fields...but, 14,000+ at Meuse
Argonne...5000+ in Luxembourg with 22 brothers buried side by side...9000+
at Normandy...and on...and on...and on...We need to minimize the potential
for any future conflicts...need for more crosses...

good luck all
