Most cattle prices have collapsed with the rest of the commodity market but packer cows have done very well as the market needs hamburger for the stay at home crowd as well as the hoarders. Not really effecting me yet as I wasn't planning on marketing anything until June or so except some cull cows which may go next month after weaning their calves. The cattle sale barns while mostly still open but have had very few animals to sell. Its more been the bad pricing than virus fears as there is very little of that out here in the country. Virus or not, its the busy time of the year and things need to get done. Corn is already in the ground here for some but its been muddy for about two weeks now and delayed some planting. For me my grass seed is still in the barn as the tractor had to be split apart to fix a gear and bearing problem. Its always something. Stay safe Birdog |
