East Texas: should get renamed as land of a million shallow lakes or ponds.

Starting with late October this large area has gotten consistent chilly winds and waves of rain. Usually weather here have weeks of warm temps 60 t0 72 and then the wind comes down from Canada and we suffer 25 to 30 degrees . Nothing but a long period of cold, windy and wet week after week for six plus months now.

The Woodlands had a double sink hole Two large holes that each could make disappear any cars that went in with a skinny strip of road still intact ... think of it as skateboard ally .

Very few warm days . the problem with so much rain ...other than making the area mosquito heaven ....is that the land has so much water in the soil that it is no longer firm land. You try to walk in it and the mud is like pudding and goes up to you ankle or knees. Large oaks and other trees have nothing for their roots to hang on to. High winds hit and the branches with new leaves act like a sail and the trees fall over. ... on houses and blocking roads etc.

Only thing I think can be making any money farming is rice and catfish farms. Rain expected again today and then three days of sunshine ...

Any land that stays above water has a big increase in rats, mice, snakes, raccoons, armadillos , possums, squirrels, rabbits,, deer etc etc. and bugs of all kinds. I cannot seem to find an exchange prices for cockroaches or I would be rich.

To end on a cheerful note.... Hurricane Season starts June first.....with water already everywhere and dams full to the top.
