Unfortunately, the success of this iconic US major in the Guyanese offshore coupled with the sanctions imposed recently by President Trump will feed an old stale radical left narrative that the US imperial capitalist state wants to depose President Maduro so the greedy yanquis can takeover the resources that belong to the Venezuelan people.
Hopefully nobody can afford boats and thus keeps the anti-imperial struggle confined to dry land.
I do hope that the government of Guyana and the opposition are receiving sound advice on how to fiscally and monetarily manage a resource boom.
