Another issue that crops up in democracies where the main stream media often wants to tell us what to think. Hillary Clinton had a 97% chance of winning the day before the election we were told , in Australia the conservative party were far behind the Green party for years in polls.
Australia's conservative government celebrated its surprise election victory that defied years of unfavorable opinion polls
Any chance were being lied to on an ongoing basis about a multitude of issues in the polls? People pay $2k a month for a Bloomberg terminal that constantly beats up on fossil fuels and pretends that EV's are taking over, forecasts over the moon for sales, constantly declining costs, true for solar and wind as well, then reality sets in each year. Never quite what was hoped for.
Could that be a swing factor with sentiment with fossil fuels in the future, when reality sets in? What if it is that side of the investment crowd, technology will remedy everything thinking, cheaper batteries, cheaper EV's, quick chargers every where, ESG investing that's the ticket, what if it is that side of the fence that is really investing on hopium?
Fossil fuels are going to be required for decades. Physics is quite different than manipulating 1's and 0's, much of that crowd doesn't get that. Reminds me of some lyrics from a song Elvis wrote, " I need you, I want you".
