Copper Rand gold production – the “disappeared” drill resultsI also found this in my research: http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0EIN/is_1995_Nov_14/ai_17636312 This is an article from 1995. It says: “To date, nine (9) holes have been completed, and they have covered over 1,200 feet laterally a zone that could possibly extend over 3,000 feet…. So far, every hole has hit gold/copper mineralization and 48 intersections have been recorded. On average, assay results of these intersections have returned 0.138 oz/t Au and 1.49 percent Cu over a width of 11.2 feet. “ But strange… I don’t remember seeing these kinds of gold grades reported in any company document anytime in the last 3 years. The Copper Rand gold grades I have always seen mentioned have been in the 0.06 oz/t - 0.10 oz/t range. These drill holes would have grades almost double that. My calculation says that 0.138 oz/t is about 3.9 grams per ton. That answer would vary depending on whether you use short tons or long (metric) tons. I think that 3.9 grams per ton gold, as FREE BYPRODUCT, is phenomenal!
