Re: Recollections Of David Miller's Comments At IV Board Reception

<If memory serves (and I did check the AstraZeneca site since I no longer fully trust my memory), ZD4054 is taken orally. Miller stated that if it is successful, it would have the potential to complicate things for Dendreon>

This has been stated before but if miller said that I dont agree with him.

Being a clinician that treats prostate cancer, i dont see any competition. ZD4054 is still an anti hormone drug. It turns out thet when prostate cancer victims fail hormones it is because they become super sensitive to androgens and hormone refractory is kind of a misn er now that we know that fact. The drug is just another hormone manipulation. I dont believe it will cure anyone. There will always be room for provenge. I dont believe there will be much difference in the numbers of patients eligible for provenge because they will fail abiraterone eventually anyway.

If anything, there will be a surge of interest in combining provenge with other drugs such as abiraterone.
