Re: Monday /// More on Monday The Supreme Court has scheduled 3 days of hearings on the Obama Health Care Bill, starting Monday. That in itself is revealing. Most cases get 1 day. As VP Joe Biden said 2 years ago when the Bill passed Congress and was signed into law by the President, "This is a big, f*cking deal". BFD indeed. If the bill is deemed constitutional, then the Federal Government can require us to do something or buy something merely because we are alive and exist in the USA. If the Federal Government can force all of us to buy health care insurance, what else can the Federal Government force us to buy? Or force us to do? The Bill requires insurance exchanges to charge all of us a $1 per month premium to fund abortions. But if you are Amish you are not required to buy health insurance. The Constitution is supposed to limit the powers of government, especially the federal government. The preamble begins with "We the People...", not "We the Government ". I can't believe the Court will hand over its powers of what is Constitutional to the Congress. If the Supreme Court upholds the Bill, the court will have diminished the powers of the court itself. It means that Congress can pass almost any Act, defying the purpose of the Constitution. The Obama Health Care Bill is a virtual Bill of Attainder, (guilt by legislation) which is specifically forbidden by the Constitution. If the bill is upheld, does that mean illegal immigrants will be required to buy health care before sneaking into the US? An encouraging sign: A few days ago the Supreme Court ruled that the Environmental Protection Agency overreached its powers, and that US citizens affected by EPA transgressions can sue the EPA. The court is saying there are indeed limits to the power of the Federal Government. Wonderful news, indeed! shel It is possible that the Court will decide not to hear the ObamaCare matter since the law does not does go into full effect until 2014. But lower courts (24 or so ) have already ruled on the case, so this would be an unlikely and strange non decision, IMO. I expect a 5 to 4 decision that the Individual Mandate is Unconstitutional. That means the death of ObamaCare. =========================================================================================== "You can count on Americans* to do the right thing...after they have tried everything else."
