Today's Presentation by Schiffman
Here's a brief summary from memory in my words, not Schiffman's.
1. The (almost) subliminal focus of the presentation was on the valuation of the company based on its antigen cassett technology and the pipeline.
2. Positive statements were made about the progress and potential of Neuvenge and TRP-8.
3. For Provenge, the discussion was on the consistency of results among the trials, the ease and short duration of treatment, the lack of bad side effects, and the enormous physician and patient awareness of this treatment in advance of its licensure.
4. There was discussion of the newly announced building of manufacturing facilities and when they might be fully functional. (I don't remember the dates, but recall thinking that by no later than mid-2012 Dendreon's domestic revenues from Provenge alone can be 100% realized.)
5. Schiffman reiterated that there would be no need to go to the market's for additional funding at this time.
6. Schiffman ended with a reference to the September 24 Analyst Meeting when many additional details of the company's plans will be fleshed out.
This presentation provided (1) a very positive change in emphasis from previous presentations, (2) a confidence in the breakthrough nature and superiority of Provenge relative to the current SOC; (3) a confidence in the financial health of the corporation, and (4) a very matter-of-fact "here's where we are today" and an implied "just think about where we are going to be tomorrow."
